The crowd of lords could not be more colorful. Among them were the counts of Abenberg and the Hohenzollern, the Bavarian kingdom and, lastly, at the end of the 19th century, the internationally celebrated Wagner tenor Anton Schott. Today's image of the castle, which repeatedly casts its spell over visitors, is due to his penchant for bygone days. You can reach the castle closely inside the mighty Schottenturm, which accommodates six guest rooms and was awarded four stars by DEHOGA. For weddings, festivities and meetings you can rent rooms for up to 150 people as well as the magnificent rose garden during summer.

Within only a few steps you can explore both museums of the castle complex - the house of Franconian history and the lace-making museum - and take a walk through the pretty little town of Abenberg with lots of timber-framing and cobblestones.
