The Castle Road runs through main roads and rural roads. Here, it is not about the fastest connection from location to location, but rather about offering an attractive routing for tourists guiding from castle to castle and from palace to palace. Brown signs with white letters lead you the way from one station to another. The detailed track layout can be seen on our map, you can download the GPS track here.

The Castle Road is accessible via motorway as follows:

The Castle Road offers a signposted cycle track along the whole route from Mannheim to Bayreuth for cyclists. The track runs mostly on cycle paths and paved roads. Only short sections run on busy roads.

By Plane

The direct journey to the Castle Road can be made via Nuremberg airport. The nearest airports in Germany are

> Stuttgart (approx. 70 km to Heilbronn)
> Frankfurt/Main (approx. 90 km to Heidelberg)
> Munich (approx. 165 km to Nuremberg).

There are frequent train connections from all airports towards the Castle Road. Sometimes Shuttle-Services are offered. And, of course, there are car rental stations at all airports and in all major cities.
